This website honors the memory of SPORTIME Harbor Island's beloved Senior Tennis Professional, Ernest Atiso, whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 34.  Friends and students of Ernest may contribute in Ernest's memory through this website.  All contributions will be held in a segregated account and administered by SPORTIME and SPORTIME will match all contributions, dollar for dollar, until the first $10,000 is raised and Ernest has been given a proper funeral and burial in his home country.  100% of all contributions will be used as described below, in memory of Ernest.  Detailed reports will be posted on this website as funds are received and spent, along with a list of donors.  At present, contributions are not tax-deductible.  To contribute, please click on one of the arrows below and use the form to contribute by credit card or checking draft, or you may print and mail the form with a paper check.  To contribute by phone, please call 914-777-5050. 1. A Funeral Service in New York - There are currently no funds for such a service, in which many of Ernest's friends and loved ones would like to participate.  Total Estimated Cost: $5,000 

2. Return of Ernest's body to Ghana for burial - We believe that this would have been Ernest's wish, including a service in his home country.  Estimated Cost: $4,700

3. A Memorial Tree and Bench in Harbor Island Park - This tree and bench will be situated directly in front of the clubhouse and will be used by summer campers for shade and as a picnic area. Estimated Cost: $1,200  Contributed by the Brenner Family  We will continue to accept contributions to landscape and further beautify this memorial area directly in front of our clubhouse.

4. In support of Junior Tennis in Ghana - Ernest recently spent $1,000 of his own hard earned money to send cases of new tennis balls to Ghana.  We would like to continue this in his honor on an annual basis.  Estimated Cost: $1,000 annually

5. A trust fund for Ernest's daughter who lives in Belgium - Annual contributions will help to insure that Ernest's daughter has educational and other opportunites in memory of her father.  

Ernest put heart, soul, and love into every lesson he taught.  He cherished his job, loved and respected his colleagues, and valued his relationship with every one of his students and with every SPORTIME member.  Ernest's ever-smiling face will be missed by us all.  Ernest's friends and colleagues appreciate your condolences and any contributions to his memory you choose to make.
