JMTA’er Noah Rubin was in action over this past weekend in Bradenton, Florida at the IMG Academy $10k Futures. Noah was the #7 seed, and after winning his first two rounds rather easily, he faced Japanese up-and-comer Naoki Nakagawa in the quarters. In a close match, Noah defeated Naoki 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to move on to the semis. In his semifinal match on Saturday, Noah faced, Andrey Rublev of Russia. After a rain delay, the clay courts were playing like mud. Not the best conditions for a hard court player like Noah. Though he gave it his best effort, Noah lost the match to the tournament’s eventual champion, 6-3, 6-3. According to his coach Lawrence Kleger, “Noah continues to post excellent results at the Futures level. He will continue to play Futures and throw in a few Challengers to test him as he continues to improve his ATP Ranking. After Bradenton he should be in the mid-700s.” Next up for Noah is the January Future Circuit starting in Plantation, FL January 6th.
