JMTA Player Maxwell Kachkarov Wins Eastern Section Super Six Championship!

USTA Tournament Results 6/3-6/6

With the official start of summer just around the corner, the players of the JMTA took to the courts over the first weekend of June playing in tournaments ranging from Eastern Section Super Six events to local Level 3 tournaments.

While numerous JMTA players recorded tournament wins over the weekend, perhaps the most impressive result was Maxwell Kachkarov’s tournament victory in the Boys’ 14 competition at the Eastern Super Six Championships at Mendham. In his run to the Final, Kachkarov faced stiff competition, defeating the #6 seed in the Round of 16, the # 14 seed in the Quarterfinals, and the #9 seed in the Semifinals. In a very tough Finals match, Kachkarov then faced the #5 seed, in which it took a third set tiebreak to win the match.

In Level 1B action, the JMTA had several winners. First, at the Level 1B Mountainside Racquet Club June Challenger, Luke Smith claimed the Boys’ 18 title, while at the Level 1B Jericho/Westbury June Challenger, Emily Tannenbaum won the Girls’ 14 title. Winning both the Girls’ 12 Singles and Doubles titles at the Level 1B GST June Classic was Blakely Duskin. Our last Level 1B winner for this weekend was Theodora Rabman, who won the Girls’ 12 title at the Level 1B SPORTIME Syosset June Challenger.

In Level 2 action at the On Serve Junior June Open, Cal Wider had a very impressive run to the championship as he did not drop a game in 3 rounds of play. Rounding out our winners for this weekend was Allegra Wong, who defeated the #1 seed in the Finals match of the Girls’ 12 competition at the Level 2 Cunningham Park Tennis Center June Open.

Congratulations to all of our winners!
