The TEAM The Directors who supervise a JMTA player's group sessions, and, if applicable, that player's private coaches, are that player's TEAM. They are the 'go to' for questions on a player's development and for tournament schedule planning advice, and more. Each player and their parents will receive regular feedback from the player's TEAM by text, email or phone, when appropriate. |
Mental Toughness Training Our 'JMTA You' program includes integrated on and off-court, group mental toughness training and wellness seminars for players and parents, alongside on-court mental toughness coaching. Developed by Dr. Dan Stankovic, Ed.D., BCB, JMTA's Director of Mental Performance and Wellness, and delivered by trained JMTA Directors and coaches, JMTA's mental toughness approach has been designed to prepare JMTA players for all on-court and off-court situations. For one-on-one sessions with Dr. Stankovic, see the JMTA Training Enhancements for more information. |
Tournament Support JMTA Directors are available to advise on individual player tournament schedules. Multiple JMTA coaches attend certain USTA and ITF tournaments to support JMTA juniors each weekend. JMTA Students are strongly encouraged to join the USTA and UTR, as these memberships are required to participate in sanctioned/verified tournament play. For a link to SPORTIME's UTR tournament schedule, click here. |
Group Athletic Performance Training Group athletic training and conditioning, provided by the JMTA Performance team and designed to complement on-court instruction, is offered to all JMTA players before or after each JMTA session. Assessments are conducted at the beginning of the session. One-on-one training, comprehensive assessments, physical therapy, nutrition and hydration consulting and other services are available for an additional cost; see the JMTA Training Enhancements for more information. |
SPORTIME World Tour The SPORTIME/JMTA World Tour is our Grand Slam themed competition for our Red, Orange and Green level players, designed to provide a stepping stone into more formal USTA or UTR events. They are included in the cost of program sessions and are held at multiple SPORTIME sites each year. Players from all SPORTIME clubs are welcome to events themed around Beijing, Melbourne, Indian Wells and Paris, providing a fun opportunity to meet and compete in age and level appropriate format team competitions. Click here to visit the site. |
Video Analysis Our supervising coaches take videos of JMTA players in action using video analysis software, provide verbal feedback tagged to the video clips, and use annotation tools to highlight the verbal analysis. These are sent to players and their parents by email. JMTA coaches also review and analyze other practice and match-play videos, both of JMTA players and of professional players, with students, in group settings. |
College Advisory Service Basic college search/placement support is provided to all JMTA players approaching college age, to help them identify schools that offer programs particularly well suited to their tennis and academic needs. More college placement services are available for an additional cost, including creation of personal recruiting intro videos, coordinated outreach to college coaches, an annual College Recruiting Combine, bringing top college coaches to SPORTIME to evaluate JMTA Players, and more; see JMTA Training Enhancements for more information. |
JMTA Virtual Accessible through the JMTA Portal, JMTA 'Virtual' training features interactive, live, and pre-recorded webinars covering topics such as tennis technique, strategy, fitness, mental toughness, tournament preparation and nutrition. Virtual sessions also include live group athletic training and Q&A sessions, hosted by Patrick McEnroe, with current and former pros (including, so far, Billie Jean King, Caroline Wozniaki, Milos Raonic and Johnny Mac), and more. Watch live, or catch-up on what you missed in the Webinar Archive section. |
