SPORTIME Quogue Guidelines

The following policies and guidelines will be in effect at SPORTIME Quogue until further notice in order to ensure the safest, smoothest, tennis experience for members and staff during this challenging time.  These guidelines, and our Company-wide guidelines, will be updated on an ongoing basis, as we receive new information and directives from governmental and other health agencies and organizations, and based on our experience navigating this “new normal”.  While some might view certain protocols as overly cautious, SPORTIME may choose to maintain them, in spite of prevailing guidance, if they make our members, customers and/or staff feel safer and more comfortable.

Our goal is to provide the best tennis experience to our members, on the best courts in the area; not to create a lot of rules and restrictions.  However, to assure distancing, and to eliminate congregation and waiting, we must temporarily install a court reservation and game arranging system that allows our members to book a court, to arrive just before their designated court-time, to play, and to leave.  To achieve this new, distanced, experience, many things will be changing from the regular way we have been doing things.  Most, if not all of these changes, should be reversed in the coming months, but, for now, we ask that you review these guidelines very carefully, follow them without fail, and reach out to us at any time with questions, or for assistance.

Notwithstanding all the precautions that SPORTIME will take, due to the nature of the virus, the risk of contracting COVID-19 remains, as we are all aware.  Please be safe, respect others and follow all of the precautions, protections and protocols put in place during this COVID-19 epidemic.

Club General Safety Guidelines

  • Do not come to the club if you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, including mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough and difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • All members and guests MUST wear a face mask when arriving and departing and when on club grounds and not playing, or whenever physical distancing cannot be achieved.
  • All members must maintain six feet of physical distance from all other members and staff at all times, even on the tennis court.
  • No drinking water or food service is available until further notice, so please bring personal water or snacks with you.
  • For both court-time and lessons, players are asked to enter their assigned court only once it has been vacated by other players.  There should never be more than four players and a coach on any court, and courtesy and common sense must prevail at all times.
  • Players are encouraged to not change sides or, if they choose to change sides, to do so on opposite sides of the court, around opposite net posts.
  • Every court has hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes available.

Club Tennis Rules & Guidelines

  • Game arranging, singles play and doubles play, and lessons/programs with no more than two players per side, per court, are allowed.
  • All members must request game arranging, schedule court-time and private lessons no less than one day in advance. We recommend booking court time and game arranging using the MYSPORTIME App, while private lessons should be booked by calling (631-653-6767) or by texting (631-450-2180) and speaking/texting with Tim or Ivan. NO WALK-INS PLEASE.
  • Court-time is offered, by reservation, in 90 min blocks, from 8am-6pm, 7 days a week, when available.
  • Members may book courts up to 7-days in advance. Each booking must have two active member names associated with it, or a member’s name and a member guest name, with a completed guest waiver (click here for link).
  • Cancellations/changes allowed until 24-hours prior to booking; late cancellations and no-shows are charged $25/person.
  • Your court time will be confirmed by text or email the evening before your reservation for play, and your court number will be available on the MYSportime app upon arrival to the club.
  • Member Guests are welcome at a rate of $25 per day (maximum 2 visits per guest per season at this rate, after which additional visits will be $35 per day). All guests must now sign waivers (personal info must be captured, for contact tracing if necessary) before coming to the club (click here for link) or register on the MYSPORTIME app.
  • While the most recent CDC guidance appears to indicate that transmission of the virus from surfaces is unlikely, in an abundance of caution, we recommend that each player provide his/her own can/s of balls and personalize them clearly, or take note of their unique numbers, as long as the numbers are not the same as the other player’s ball numbers. Players should serve or start a rally using their own balls, and should avoid touching balls that do not have their marks; instead they should use their rackets to roll or send the balls to their playing partners. Balls and personalizing supplies are available at the club.

Private and Group Lessons/Programs

  • Private lessons and small group lessons (on-site and off-site) are available 8am-6pm, 7 days a week (a 48-hour cancellation policy applies).
  • Arrive as close to the scheduled lesson start time as possible, and only access the court once the previous lesson has exited the court.
  • Lesson spectating is prohibited at this time; special considerations will be made, as needed, for Under 10 red ball and orange ball players.

Club Restrictions

  • The bathrooms, pro shop and cafe ARE CLOSED until further notice, if you would like to purchase balls, or any pro-shop items, or drop off rackets for stringing, please contact us in advance and we will make these items available for court-side pick-up.  If you would like us to mark purchased balls with players’ initials, to assist in proper ball hygiene, let us know and doing so will be our pleasure.
  • Essential staff, including management and facility maintenance teams, are on-site to make sure that the club remains safe and actively maintained at all times. We are also making  sure that all distancing and sanitary protocols are followed by all players and by all staff members at all times.
  • Please do not leave any equipment on the court as it will be thrown away.
  • We also ask that you please limit your social time at the club until further notice. New York remains under a stay-in-place and public gatherings are still not allowed.
