SPORTIME Syosset Guidelines

We have created the following policies and guidelines for SPORTIME Syosset, to be followed until further notice, designed to ensure the safest, smoothest, experience for members and staff during this challenging time.  These guidelines, and our Global Guidelines, will be updated on an ongoing basis, as we receive new information and directives from governmental and other health agencies and organizations, and based on our experience navigating this “new normal”.  While some might view certain protocols as overly cautious, SPORTIME may choose to maintain them, in spite of prevailing guidance, if they make our members, customers and/or staff feel safer and more comfortable.

Please note that SPORTIME's primary and most important guidelines and protocols are contained in our comprehensive Global Guidelines; we strongly encourage you to review them carefully and in their entirety before reviewing club-specific guidelines. The club-specific guidelines are designed only to indicate where a club's protocols differ from our corporate standard, and/or to provide additional detail.

Notwithstanding all the precautions that SPORTIME will take, due to the nature of the virus, the risk of contracting COVID-19 remains, as we are all aware.  Please be safe, respect others and follow all of the precautions, protections and protocols put in place during this COVID-19 epidemic.

Club Specific Details

  • New traffic flow patterns, to avoid physical distancing issues as players move about the premises, have been established. Signage identifying these patterns, and providing reminders about physical distancing, wearing protective face coverings, and more, has been affixed throughout the club.
    • Parents or others dropping-off and picking-up their players at SPORTIME will continue to do so at the front entrance of the club. We ask that you remain in your cars in the designated pick-up and drop-off lanes so we can
keep the traffic flowing as best as possible.
    • During junior programming, Monday-Friday 4-8pm and Saturday/Sunday 10am-3pm, there will SPORTIME staff stationed at the front entrance to help direct traffic flow into the building, as well as in the parking lot, and to assist with new patterns. As the safety of our players and staff is our first priority, our program dismissal process may take a few extra minutes, especially during these peak times; we appreciate your continued patience.
  • Access to the indoor clubhouse building, other than to SPORTIME staff, will be strictly limited, except for players, locker room and restroom access, reception, pro shop, and use of the athletic training center and multi-sport court. Players and/or program participants are asked to remain in their cars until 5 minutes before their scheduled activity. For more information about spectating, including live-streaming options, and general building access protocols, please review SPORTIME’s Global Guidelines.
  • All adult players, junior players (other than tennis group program participants who will be checked in on-court), parents/guardians of junior players and guests must check-in at reception.  No exceptions. For more details on these mandatory check-in procedures, please review our Global Guidelines > STAFF / MEMBER / CUSTOMER SAFETY>Check-In/Health & Temperature Screenings.
  • Hourly court-time, per diem private tennis lessons, private athletic training and multi-sport court rentals must be reserved in advance by telephone (516-364-2727) or by email. Adult and junior players must register for group programs, seasonal court-time and series private tennis lessons in advance online or by submitting an application - click here. SPORTIME's prevailing cancellation policies apply.
  • JMTA and U10 Group program participants will be directed by staff to designated waiting areas when they arrive at SPORTIME, and will be led by coaches to their assigned courts no more than 5 minutes before the start of a session. While being led to their courts by staff, and upon reaching them, players must leave their face coverings on until their temperatures are taken and they are instructed to remove them by coaches.
  • The Athletic Training Center will only be used for individual athletic training sessions until further notice.  In accordance with NYS mandatory guidelines, participants, or the parents/guardians of participants if they are minors, will need to complete an electronic health screening prior to attending each individual athletic training session.  For more details on these mandatory reservation requirements and procedures, please review our Global Guidelines.
    • For private athletic training sessions, participants must reply " I agree" to the appointment reminders, which they will receive the evening prior, on the day of the actual appointment.
    • JMTA Virtual private training is also available; please contact Fitness Director, Aaron Lopez, for more information -
  • Showers are open by key access only. Keys can be retrieved at the reception desk, and we ask that they be returned immediately after use so that showers can be sanitized prior to the next use.
  • Our pro shop is open for a maximum of one shopper at a time indoors.
  • Our Multi-Sport court will be available for use by members and guests, but team sports activities must adhere to NYS Sports and Recreation Guidelines: please review our Global Guidelines for details.  Participants/Instructors will be required to bring their own equipment.
