SPORTIME VBC Beach Guidelines

We have created the following policies and guidelines for SPORTIME VBC Beach Volleyball Programs, designed to ensure the safest, smoothest, beach volleyball experience for players, parents and staff during the summer of 2020.  These guidelines, and our Global Guidelines, will be updated on an ongoing basis, as we receive new information and directives from governmental and other health agencies and organizations, and based on our experience navigating this “new normal”.  While some might view certain protocols as overly cautious, SPORTIME may choose to maintain them, in spite of prevailing guidance, if they make our members, customers and/or staff feel safer and more comfortable.

Please note that SPORTIME's primary and most important guidelines and protocols are contained in our comprehensive Global Guidelines; we strongly encourage you to review them carefully and in their entirety before reviewing club-specific guidelines. The club-specific guidelines are designed only to indicate where a club's protocols differ from our corporate standard, and/or to provide additional detail.

Notwithstanding all the precautions that SPORTIME will take, due to the nature of the virus, the risk of contracting COVID-19 remains, as we are all aware.  Please be safe, respect others and follow all of the precautions, protections and protocols put in place during this COVID-19 epidemic.

Town of Hempstead: Beach Volleyball Facility Safety Guidelines

  • Players and parents will be asked to refrain from attending training sessions if/when exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, including mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough and difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the prior 14 days.
  • All players, parents and guests MUST wear a face covering when arriving and departing the volleyball courts, while viewing/not playing, and whenever physical distancing cannot be achieved.
  • Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes will be available next to every volleyball court as well as at court entrances/exits.
  • There will be markers informing parents where beach chairs/viewing are permitted and signs will be placed in the sand to remind people to observe proper social distancing.

Beach Volleyball Activity Guidelines

  • Beach volleyball programs will be limited to doubles play only, to reduce the number of players on the court at one time.  Players waiting to step onto the court will wait in designated and clearly marked areas, at least 6 feet apart.
  • Players may be asked to wear a face covering while on the court during specific drills or game play situations.
  • Our program capacities will be reduced to ensure safety, and we will offer additional doubles training sessions throughout the week in order to accommodate as many players as possible.
  • Players will store their personal belongings in clearly marked areas to avoid clustering on the outskirts of the volleyball courts.
  • Beach Volleyballs will be disinfected using sanitizing solution before and after each training session.
