Melanie Zak, Summer Camp Operator/Director

Melanie Zak has been our proud SPORTIME KP Summer Camp Director since 2013!

She has been working in the camp industry since the mid-1990’s at some of Long Island’s most premier summer day camps. Melanie’s dedication and vision have been instrumental in helping SPORTIME Kings Park become one of, if not the best, summer camp on Long Island. She believes that camp is a magical place where children have the opportunity to learn, try new things, make new friends, imagine, play and leave with memories that will last a lifetime.

Melanie lives in Commack where she devotes much of her spare time to various school, athletic and non-profit organizations. If you need to find her she’s probably on the football field or at the edge of the wrestling mat.

“Uncle Mellie” as she’s called at camp (a nickname her nieces gave her), attended Hofstra University where she met husband Mike. They share children, daughter Kylie (21) and sons, Brady (16) and Logan (15) as well as two crazy pups Atlas and Sarge. You can find the whole family at camp each summer :)

Vanessa is a teacher during the school year and is the coffee drinking chauffeur/mom of two former campers who are now also part of our camp staff. Vanessa’s favorite part of camp is the magic that happens when preschoolers make new friends, learn new skills, and leave camp each day with a huge smile on their faces.

Kailey Broderick, Summer Camp Sports Director

Kailey “Miss B” is returning for her third summer at SPORTIME Summer Camp. She started off as a coach and moved her way up to head coach last summer. The company was started by Kaitlyn & Nicholas Ryan, two experienced lifeguards and swimming instructors who saw a gap in the market for a well-rounded aquatics program.

Since then, they have trained more than 1500 Lifeguards, conducted over 500 swim lessons, and brought their knowledge and expertise in the field to camps and communities all over Long Island. They had been recognized by the American Red Cross the past three years as a top Licensed Training Provider on Long Island.
