Hana Sromova
General Manager

Hana, a native of Czech Republic, was a top ranked junior tennis player in her home country and competed globally on the ITF and WTA circuits. She turned pro in 1997 and earned 8 ITF singles titles and 35 ITF doubles titles. In 2006, Hana reached her career-best WTA rankings of No.87 in the world in singles and No.63 in doubles. Hana competed in the U.S. Open in 2006 and 2008 and reached the second round of the French Open and Australian Open in 2006 and the second round at Wimbledon in 2007. Hana was a member of the NY Sportimes World TeamTennis franchise in 2007 and 2008. After retiring from the WTA Tour in 2008, Hana joined SPORTIME as a touring professional and Assistant General Manager in Amagansett.

Kim Donohue, an East Hampton native, studied Communications at Northeastern University and graduated from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. Prior to her career at SPORTIME, Kim was a project manager for a non-profit, as well as a personal chef and event planner. Kim
joined the SPORTIME Amagansett team in 2018 as General Manager of East Hampton Sports Camp @ SPORTIME, a position she continues to hold, and was promoted to Co-General Manager of Sportime Amagansett in 2021.

Mike Barrell
Mike Barrell
Executive Director of Tennis, SPORTIME Clubs

Mike hails from the United Kingdom and has been a coach for more than 30 years. As a coach and tennis consultant worldwide, he has worked and delivered training in over 80 countries, supporting the development of tennis on five continents. Mike has been a keynote speaker at three ITF Worldwide Conferences and has presented at multiple USPTA World Conferences, PTR International Symposia, and National Conferences, and is a regular contributor to the ATP/WTA Pro Course. Mike was the author of the ITF Tennis10s manual, the Official U10 Program of many nations across the globe. His previous roles include Director of Tennis at MatchPoint in Southampton, England, and Director of Junior Tennis at the West Hants Club in Bournemouth, England. A Level Five LTA Coach, PTR Professional, and USPTA P1, Mike was also an LTA Master Tutor, ITF Expert, and PTR World Professional of the Year in 2007. In 2022 he was recognized as a PTR International Master Professional. He joined the SPORTIME/JMTA team in 2022, bringing his coaching and coach education background to the key role of developing our coaching staff and enhancing our programs across the Company.

Mark Crandall
Camp Co-Director / EHSC@SPORTIME Amagansett

Mark Crandall, Founder and Co-Director of EHSC, grew up in Amagansett, and graduated from East Hampton High School, class of 86’. He attended The University of Vermont, and upon completing his degree, moved back to Amagansett, where he still lives with his daughters and top notch counselors, Zola and Inez. In addition to his work at EHSC, Mark founded
Hoops 4 Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth development in southern Africa (www.HoopsAfrica.org).

Eric Scoppetta
Camp Co-Director / EHSC@SPORTIME Amagansett

Eric Scoppetta, Founder and Co-Director of EHSC, was born and raised in New York City. Eric attended The Dalton School '86, Cornell University '90, and received his law degree from Fordham Law School '96. After a legal career, including as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County, Eric pivoted to a career in education, teaching at Manhattan Country School, Ethical Culture, Dalton and Bank Street. Eric's daughter, Lucie, is an all-star counselor and art-teacher and his son, Nicky, is a happy camper!

Pre-School Director / EHSC@SPORTIME Amagansett

Born and raised in East Hampton, Dani has made elementary and preschool education her life’s work. She received her B.A. from Siena College and her Masters’ Degree from Hunter College’s Graduate Program, both in education. Before her current role teaching kindergarten at St. Ignatius Loyola in New York City, Dani taught at The Epiphany Community Nursery School and at The Garden House School. She has also worked as a swim instructor, ESL teacher and camp counselor. Dani is in her 13th season at EHSC; her 10th as Preschool Director.

TENNIS PROFESSIONALS
Patrick McEnroe
Director of the John McEnroe Tennis Academy / President, Johnny Mac Tennis Project

As a junior from Douglaston, NY, Patrick reached the semifinals of Wimbledon and the US Open boys' singles in 1983. At Stanford University, Patrick captained NCAA championship teams in 1986 and 1988 and graduated with a degree in political science. On the ATP Tour, Patrick achieved world rankings of No.28 in singles and No.3 in doubles, and won a French Open title in doubles. Patrick was the longest tenured U.S. Davis Cup captain in history, winning the cup in 2007. He was the General Manager of Player Development for the USTA until 2015 and joined SPORTIME/JMTA in 2017.

Josep Baro
Director, JMTA Amagansett

Josep, a native of Spain, has been a tennis leader at SPORTIME since 2013, most recently as the Assistant General Manager and the Assistant Academy Director at SPORTIME Lake Isle, in Westchester. As an undergraduate, he played 4 years for Campbell University on a tennis scholarship, after which he served as graduate assistant head coach for the Men’s and Women’s team, while completing his MBA. Josep works with players of all ages and levels, including, most recently, with WTA Tour World No. 11, Carla Suarez Navarro.

Gui Jasmin
Director of Tennis

Gui, hailing from Brazil, has 18 years of experience as a master tennis coach. Gui played his collegiate tennis at University of West Florida, helping the Argonauts to achieve a No. 1 NCAA Division II ranking. Gui’s coaching experience includes his current winter-season position at Montverde Academy in FL, working with Brazil’s current Davis Cup captain, and former World No. 34, Jaime Oncins. He has coached at the collegiate level at his alma mater, as well as at Clemson University, Middle Tennessee State University and, most recently, at Armstrong State University, where he led the women’s tennis team to an undefeated NCAA title. Gui joined the SPORTIME Amagansett team in spring 2020.

Nandor Solymosi

Born in Stockholm, Nandor was raised in Budapest from the age of 4. A top 10 men's singles player in Hungary, Nandor trained with the Hungarian Davis Cup Team and also played for Lees McRae College in North Carolina. Nandor coached and directed programs at tennis clubs in New York, North Carolina and Florida before joining the SPORTIME Amagansett team in 2020.

Nelson Escobar

Nelson, a native of Ecuador, was a top 20 ranked junior in his home country while training at the Andres Gomez Academy. He moved to the United States in 2004 to play for Union College, where he won two conference championships and the Most Improved Player of the Year Award, graduating with a degree in Business Marketing and Management. Nelson joined SPORTIME/JMTA in 2012 and has over 12 years of teaching and coaching experience. During the indoor season, Nelson is an Assistant Director at SPORTIME Lake Isle.

Stanislas Bedrune
Assistant General Manager

Hailing from ​​Ventabren, France, Stanislas (Stan) Bedrune was a competitive junior in his home country before moving to the US to play for Queens College. A talent on and off the court, Stan helped The Knights win three ECC Conference Championships while earning academic honors from Queens College and from the NCAA. He also served as an assistant tennis professional at his alma mater while earning his degree. During summer breaks, Stan worked at clubs across the Northeast, before joining the SPORTIME Amagansett seasonal team in 2018 as a teaching pro. Upon graduation, Stan was the Assistant Tennis Director for Richmond Country Club in Staten Island, while completing his Master’s in Sports Management. Stan re-joined the SPORTIME family in 2021 and was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2024.

Paul Koenke

Director, JMTA Amagansett

Paul Koenke, originally from Denver, Colorado, achieved a top 10 ranking in the USTA National Boys’ U16 and U18 Divisions, and won three USTA National Championships and six Intermountain Sectional Championships, as a junior. Paul played for DI Clemson University before transferring to DI Boise State University, where he achieved a career-high national ranking of #42 in doubles, and won the University of Virginia Fall Singles Classic in 2007. He then transferred to the University of Colorado, and graduated with a B.A in Communications. After college, Paul pursued his passion for tennis in New Zealand, excelling as a player and coach. He attained a ranking of #5 in the NZ national standings, while coaching players of all ages and levels, including top junior talent. Over the past 13 years, Paul has coached across the United States, including at the Smith Stearns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, NC and the Snowmass Club in Aspen, CO, and spent the last 7 years as the Head Tennis Professional and Director of Junior Development at the Savannah Yacht Club in Savannah, GA. Recently, Paul returned to competition in the USTA Men’s 35 and overs, winning a total of 5 gold, silver and bronze balls. He is currently the #1 ranked doubles player in the country in his age division. Paul was named Director of JMTA Summer Tennis Training at SPORTIME Amagansett in 2024

Jill Spangenberg
Jill Spangenberg
Global Director of Retail, SPORTIME Clubs

With a professional background in management and merchandising, Jill has held leadership roles for a variety of specialty retailers throughout her career, including Kenneth Cole, Jacadi, and Hot Topic. Prior to joining SPORTIME, Jill spent 10 years at Yankee Candle, in senior leadership and business growth positions. Ready for a new challenge, Jill joined the SPORTIME team in 2023, where she will oversee retail operations across SPORTIME, JMTA, and SPORTIME PICKLEBALL. Jill lives in Oyster Bay, NY, and very much looks forward to tuning up her tennis game, and seeing what the sport of pickleball has to offer.

Tyler Jarvis
Multi-Sport Director / SPORTIME Amagansett Arena

Tyler grew up in East Hampton, playing ice and roller hockey since childhood in PIHA and AIHL D1 leagues across Long Island. Playing D1 at Mt. Siani, Tyler was ranked 5th in the country for 16-18 year olds. Tyler has been coaching at SPORTIME for 12 years, focusing on hockey, but also coaching basketball, soccer, volleyball and, recently, pickleball.
