Major League Pickleball (MLP) and the Brooklyn Pickleball Team (BKPT)  - a Premier Level MLP franchise - proudly hosted MLP New York at SPORTIME Randall’s Island from July 3–6.

The four-day event showcased the best pickleball professionals in the world across 30 coed team matches - including four featuring hometown favorites BKPT - and brought an exciting mix of food, drinks, music, and sponsor activations to the venue.

Top professional teams, including the Brooklyn Pickleball Team, New York Hustlers, Florida Smash, Chicago Slice, and D.C. Pickleball Team, delivered nonstop action throughout the holiday weekend. It was the perfect way to celebrate the 4th of July in NYC - with fireworks on and off the court.

Our own SPORTIME Pickleball community had the rare opportunity to compete just steps from the pros, creating an unforgettable environment where elite play met local passion. Practices and matches buzzed with energy as fans lined the courts to watch, cheer, and be part of the action.

Home to the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, and built to host world-class events, SPORTIME Randall’s Island, the largest year-round tennis and paddle sports club in the world, was proud to welcome Major League Pickleball and to support the continued growth of the sport. What an incredible weekend, filled with energy, competition, and opportunity at the 2025 JMTA College Combine at SPORTIME Port Washington! 

Over the course of two days, players from all over the world including many of the top prospects from New York and the JMTA, came to showcase their tennis and athletic skills as well as their overall grit and ambitions, in hopes to impress top college coaches and make meaningful connections that could shape their tennis futures. 

With real match play that counted toward UTR, detailed Tennis Analytics, and expert sessions led by our amazing JMTA College Navigator partners - Novella Prep, Keystone Sports, and the College Planning Alliance, athletes walked away not only with valuable competitive experience, but also with a clearer understanding of the recruiting process.

Most importantly, they left the court feeling more confident, informed, and ready for what’s next - both on and off the court. With over 130 college coaches watching, both in-person and virtually, players were able to truly feel, some for the first time, some of the pressures of the recruiting process. A weekend highlight of the Combine is always the college coaches panel, where the boys and girls have opportunities to pick the brains of some of the top tennis minds anywhere. This year, it seems as if all 75 Combine players truly took advantage of this during the panel, and also looked to have informative conversations with coaches on-site throughout the weekend.
