JMTA Tournament Team
JMTA coaches attend certain USTA and ITF tournaments to support JMTA juniors. Individual coaching at tournaments is available to JMTA students for an additional cost. Challenge matches, invitational training camps and other special trips are offered throughout the year.

Unless otherwise noted, Complimentary Member Benefits require advanced reservation. Reservations can be made as of the first of the month for the benefits scheduled for that month at 12pm or thereafter: seven (7) days in advance for Tennis & Sports members (excluding Randall’s Island) and Bronze level members, and; fourteen (14) days in advance for Platinum Level and SPORTIME Plus level members. Reservations must be made by texting the SPORTIME club at which the benefit will be used. Reservation policies for Complimentary Court Time and Junior Walk On privileges are outlined below.
All benefits are first-come-first-served and are subject to availability and to cancellation/modification, at any time, at SPORTIME’s sole discretion. Benefits reserved may be used only by the reserving member. A $25.00 fee will be charged for 'no-shows' and for reservations canceled less than 24 hours in advance of the start-time of the reserved benefit.

Complimentary "Walk-on" Tennis Court Time Complimentary tennis court-time is offered to all junior players who are SPORTIME Members in good standing at all SPORTIME indoor tennis locations other than Randall’s Island. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to practice for free at SPORTIME! (See above for reservation and related policies). For Junior Walk-On Tennis Court-Time, players who are SPORTIME members in good standing may reserve as follows: Players under the age of 11 may reserve up to one (1) hour in advance and may play, at no charge, with a parent or with another SPORTIME Junior Member; Players 11 years of age and older may reserve up to two (2) hours in advance and may play, at no charge, with another SPORTIME Junior Member. Kristen Dongvort
General Manager, SPORTIME Kings Park Kristen, originally from Smithtown, NY, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Farmingdale State College. She joined the SPORTIME team in 2003, as a member of the nursery staff and the front desk staff. In 2008, Kristen was promoted to Assistant Camp Director and then to Camp Director later that same year. In 2011, she was named Membership Director, and was named Tennis Coordinator, as well, in 2013. Kristen was promoted to Assistant Manager in 2015, became Co-General Manager in 2018, and assumed the role of General Manager in 2020. |

Courtney Bernstein
Assistant Manager, SPORTIME Kings Park Courtney, originally from Hicksville, NY, earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mount Saint Mary College. After graduating, she served as an Assistant Volleyball Coach at MSMC for two years before being named Head Volleyball Coach at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. In addition to her coaching duties, Courtney was the UMSV Assistant Director of Athletics. She also served as Interim Athletic Director and Head Volleyball Coach at Sacred Heart Academy. Courtney joined the SPORTIME team in 2023. |

Summer Camp Operator / Director, SPORTIME Kings Park Melanie, originally from Long Island, NY, earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Hofstra University. She began her career in the camp industry in the mid-1990s, working at various summer day camps on Long Island. Melanie was also the Director and Owner of Maui Swim School, and was the Aquatics and Camp Director for the JCC Association. She joined the SPORTIME team in 2013. |

Donald Jackson
USTA Coordinator Donald, originally from Brentwood, NY, earned a bachelor's degree from Briarcliffe College. He began playing recreational tennis in 2013, and quickly fell in love with the sport. In 2019, Donald joined his first USTA team, which went on to win the Long Island Championship, the Sectional Championship, and finished third nationally. In 2024, he captained his first USTA team out of Sportime Kings Park to a Long Island Championship and a sectional appearance. He now captains and coaches 10 USTA teams, and joined the SPORTIME team in 2023. |

Joe Papaleo
Tennis Coach, SPORTIME Kings Park Joe, originally from Huntington, NY, played competitive tennis as a junior. Beginning in 1996, he attended Dowling College, where he played on the men’s tennis team, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2001, followed by a master’s degree in education in 2003. He went on to become the head coach of Dowling’s men’s and women’s tennis teams. Joe holds RSPA coaching certification and a New York State Provisional Certification to teach general education from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. He joined the SPORTIME team in 2025.

She competed internationally, representing Jamaica at the Carifta Games, the Coqui Bowl and the Orange Bowl. Matthew earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Oneonta in 2015, and joined the SPORTIME team in 2020. |

Owen Kassimir
Tennis Coach, SPORTIME Kings Park Owen, originally from Long Island, NY, earned a bachelor’s degree in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he also played on the men’s tennis team. After a 35-year career in photography, Owen returned to tennis in 2017 as the women’s tennis coach at the New York Institute of Technology, where he led the team to three East Coast Conference titles, and was named the ITA East Region Coach of the Year. He later became Head Coach of the girls’ tennis team at Friends Academy, leading them to a Long Island Championship in 2021, and coached the boys' team in 2023 and 2024. Owen joined the SPORTIME team in 2022. |

He was named Suffolk County Boys Varsity Tennis All-League in 2015. Beginning in 2015, Patrick attended Vassar College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 2019. He has coached tennis for more than a decade, and joined the SPORTIME team in 2021. |

Tennis Coach, SPORTIME Kings Park Rosa, originally from West Islip, NY, graduated from West Islip High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Suffolk County Zone Award. Beginning in 2018, she attended Farmingdale State College, where she played on the women’s tennis team. Rosa earned First Team All-Skyline honors for four consecutive seasons, and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2020-2021 Conference Championships. She earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts from FSC in 2022, and joined the SPORTIME team later that year. |
