EXCEL Summer Camp at SPORTIME Hempstead Lake!

SPORTIME Hempstead Lake EXCEL High Performance Summer Tennis Camp is designed for players competing in, or striving to compete in, sanctioned USTA tournaments, and those interested in playing high-school tennis, college tennis and/or simply being the best player that they can be!

Camp Program

EXCEL High Performance Tennis

9:00am - 4:00pm

Players in EXCEL Yellow are placed in appropriate groups, based on playing level, age and stage of development. SPORTIME’s signature tactical games challenge each student’s ability to formulate, plan and execute his/her own winning tactics and strategies. Our coaches focus on teaching students these “X’s and O’s” of how to construct points, while providing the technical corrections to help students execute their tactical plans. In EXCEL Yellow, we do not want to develop players who just have “pretty strokes” but cannot win matches. Our goal is to develop players who know how to compete and to win.

Typical Day Schedule

9:15 – 9:30: Check in and daily orientation

9:30 – 10:00: Morning dynamic warmup, movement and footwork drills

10:00 – 12:00: Morning tennis drills, tactical games

12:00 – 1:00: Lunch

1:00 – 1:15: Afternoon dynamic warmup

1:15 – 2:00: Fitness, movement and footwork drills

2:00 – 4:00: Afternoon tennis drills, tactical situations, match play, and cool down/stretch

Jason Pasion, Director of Tennis

After spending several years serving as head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Hofstra University and the New York Institute of Technology, Jason joined SPORTIME Lynbrook as full-time Director of Tennis in the spring of 2021. He can't wait to share his experience and enthusiasm with junior and adult players at Hempstead Lake this outdoor season.

SPORTIME Hempstead Lake

SPORTIME has been selected by New York State to operate the tennis and pickleball facility at Hempstead Lake State Park. Starting in June 2022, SPORTIME will be offering our EXCEL High Performance Tennis Camp at Hempstead Lake, where young players will train outdoors on 12 beautiful red clay tennis courts and 6 hard surface tennis courts.
